The Harvard Business Review goes into some detail as to why Apple may fall on it’s face again as Google strike’s at the companies Achilles Heel.
In the past we’ve seen Apple rise triumphantly against other companies as a pioneer in computer systems, and then fall quite epically to no-name status. Today we see them rising again to be the best-of-the-best in mobile device computing….
And yet here is HBR saying that they’re about to fall once again. I wonder what will happen in coming months to our beloved fruit.
It may come as a shock for some of you visiting this blog to read my disclosure:
I love Apple.
Why wouldn’t I? The company is solid. The software is polished. The hardware is strong. The designs are sick.
And that’s exactly why I have begun documenting the disgruntled reports from unhappy customers across the web and putting them here for the world to see. Because at some point, even the most die-hard fan boys have to realize that this seductive and amazing fruit is quite blemished indeed.
As often as the company has come out on top in the past decade with their operating systems, mp3 players and hardware, people are craving an alternative to the beast. The only way that this company is going to survive the next decade as strong as they have the past one is by continuing to grow and change the way that they interact with their customers, the way that their customers interact with the software, and the way that their business interacts with the world.
If they can continue to innovate, then they can win. But if they can become even more customer-focused in their business operations, then they can dominate.
But if they let the voices of their disgruntled customers fall into the depths of the WWW, then they’ll turn into something like another behemoth computer company that we all know and hate - Microsoft.
This blog is a place for those voices to be heard. Every day I’ll put up another article about someone, somewhere who has complaints about the company and how it operates.
You can submit your own stories by contacting me, going to the submit article page, or commenting on the ones that are already being shared. In the end, I hope that this blog becomes a home for people wanting to bash the products, for others wanting to alert the company to problems and to the mighty Apple itself as they provide solutions to the dozens of problems that will be listed in future articles.
Let’s get started, shall we?
